　　On the afternoon of October 10, Yuxi Transportation Development Investment Co., Ltd., Yunnan Jiaofa Consulting Co., Ltd., and Yunnan Jianglin Group Co., Ltd. jointly held a "Phosphorus Slag-Based Pavement Test Road On-Site Exchange Meeting" in Jiangchuan District, Yuxi City. More than 120 highway industry experts and scholars from various units, including the Yunnan Provincial Highway Society, Yunnan Provincial Highway Science and Technology Research Institute, Yuxi Highway Bureau, Yuxi Science and Technology Bureau, and the Municipal Transportation Bureau, were invited to attend the meeting to conduct research and discussions on the applicability of phosphorus slag-based concrete and its road engineering.

　　The meeting heard from Yang Junjie, Chief Engineer of Yuxi Transportation Development Investment Co., Ltd., who introduced the experimental situation of phosphorus slag-based concrete pavements. To implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important spirit regarding "ecological civilization construction is a fundamental plan related to the sustainable development of the Chinese nation," and to accelerate the implementation of Yunnan Province's requirements for promoting green development, driving innovative development, and implementing resource-efficient utilization actions, Yuxi Jiaotou Company, in collaboration with Yunnan Jiaofa Consulting Co., Ltd., developed a new type of environmentally friendly concrete—phosphorus slag-based concrete—based on the characteristics of phosphorus slag. This concrete uses phosphorus slag as aggregate, and a variety of solid waste materials such as water slag, carbide slag, and phosphogypsum are ground and mixed to form a micro-powder material as a binder. The two are mixed to form a new type of concrete, becoming the first case in Yunnan Province to replace sand and gravel materials with phosphorus slag, turning former industrial waste into treasure and becoming a new type of concrete that supports green transportation development.

　　In early August 2024, to verify the practical applicability of phosphorus slag-based concrete in pavement engineering, Yuxi Jiaotou Company paved a test section of phosphorus slag-based concrete pavement on the road within the Jianglin Group factory area. As of now, the first phase of paving has been completed. Experiments have shown that the phosphorus slag-based concrete pavement has characteristics of high strength and high durability.
　　The phosphorus slag-based concrete pavement reduces the cost of aggregates, lowering costs by 30% compared to conventional cement concrete while ensuring quality, fully reflecting the economic benefits of phosphorus slag-based concrete pavements. In addition, using phosphorus slag-based concrete materials reduces dependence on traditional raw materials, avoids environmental pollution during cement production, and significantly improves the recycling of solid waste materials, making it a green and environmentally friendly pavement material.

　　Vice Chairman Wang Wenyin fully affirmed that the rational use of phosphorus slag-based concrete in road engineering can not only solve the waste disposal problems in industries but also improve road performance, enhance material stability and durability, reduce engineering costs, and increase resource utilization.

　　Wang Wenyin conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the widespread application and sustainable development of phosphorus slag-based concrete technology in road engineering, emphasizing the need to continue strengthening research and innovation efforts, improve the performance and application range of phosphorus slag-based concrete, and perfect the relevant industry standard system. It is believed that in the near future, phosphorus slag-based concrete technology will become a choice for road construction and make significant contributions to building a green, low-carbon, and sustainable comprehensive transportation system.
